August IPSY Reveal

Since it is now officially September I thought I had better get my butt in gear and get the August IPSY bag reveal up. I am not going to go into huge detail about the products because I am sure y'all have already heard all about them from other IPSY reveals but I will let you know if I liked them or not.

1.) Michael Todd Jojoba Charcoal Gentle Exfoliating Facial Scrub - deluxe sample size
This little baby was magic. I love it so much and my skin feels and looks amazing after using it. Now I know what all the Michael Todd hype is about and I will be purchasing this item.
*SIDE NOTE*I love to put this on and walk around the house for the 5 minutes because it freaks the cat out that I have black stuff on my face LOL...little added bonus :)

2.) Pacifica Alight Multi-Mineral BB Cream - deluxe sample
I am really not feeling BB creams anymore. Most of them are more of a tinted moisturizer just with BB CREAM stamped on the bottle to jazz it up. In my opinion this BB Cream fits into that catagory as well. I did like that it adjusted to my skin tone very well and it blended nicely but it provided hardly any coverage. I will not be purchasing this item in the future.

3.) Pixi Beauty Lash Booster Mascara in 'Blackest Black' - deluxe sample
I loved this mascara at first. It provided lots of volume and build up without the clump and I was so happy about it but then a day or so later when I went to use it again, it was dried up. It was sealed up correctly so I am not sure what happened. I might purchase this product but I am a little nervous due to it drying out.

4.)Chella Cark Brown Eye Brow Pencil - Full Size $18
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this and have been using it every day since I got it. It applies so nice and it blends out so easily. I will most def. be purchasing this. I am really impressed with Chella products as a whole.

5.) NOYA Lip Balm in 'Cherry' -Full Size $3.99
Okay I have nothing against this product, I am just not a big lip balm person. I have a chapstick that I will use until I lose it and then I will get another. I did not open or use this product so I have no info for y'all, I will probably pass this on.

Overall I am happy with this months bag. I found 2 products that I love and will def. buy in the future, which is what IPSY is all about. For those of you who are interested in getting IPSY, it is $10 a month and you will get 4-5 items and they can be deluxe samples or full size. You can check out my April, May, June, & July bags to see what I got and sign up HERE

My Favorite YouTubers

I have a confession....I am addicted to YouTube. I literally start watching one video and before I know it hours have passed, it's 3am, and I am watching some weird blackhead popping video wondering how I ended up there. Too much info? LOL It's the truth though. I thought it would be fun to share the YouTubers that I stalk absolutely love and can't get enough of. I definitely love and watch more channels than what I am about to list, these are just the ones that I spend hours watching because they are so fabulous.

1.) Melissa from Melmphs
She is my all time fave right now. She is so sweet, funny, honest, and a great beauty guru. She is so funny and when she talks, I hear myself lol. I always wished that I could write my blog the way I talk but y'all would prolly think I was a nut job.

2.) Zoella from Zoella280390
I am obsessed with the UK and I absolutely love her. She is so sweet and she has amazing style. I also love her vlogg channel MoreZoella . Most of you are already following her because she is a super popular beauty blogger but if not, check her out!

3.) GiGi from Gregory Gorgeous
I get so excited when I see his video go up every week. He is so gorgeous, fierce, and hilarious. He literally makes me laugh out loud every time I watch a video.

4.) Louise from Sprinkle of Glitter
She is so funny and I love how real and down to earth she is. I started watching her videos a few months ago and I absolutely love her style and confidence.

5.) Nicole from Nicole Guerriero
This is another beauty guru that most of you know about but for the people who don't, YOU MUST WATCH HER! She is incredible at makeup and always looks so gorgeous. She always looks flawless and she really does have some of the best makeup and hair tutorials on YouTube.

These lovelies are my favorites right now and I would love to hear yours. If you have any recommendations leave them in the comments so I can check them out. We are only a few followers away from hitting my 150 GFC follower goal and I am so excited because I will be doing a giveaway.....yayy! Also, follow me on twitter because its looking a little pathetic right now LOL (shameful I know).

DIY Makeup Brush Cleaner

Every weekend like clock work I clean my used makeup brushes. It's important to remove the dirt, oil, makeup, bacteria, dead skin, and dust that build up on your brushes. Dirty brushes can cause breakouts and cause your makeup to look "grimey". With all that being said, I am not paying bookoo bucks for a brush cleaner when I can do it with items around my house for a fraction of the cost.

Disclaimer: Steven impatiently took these pictures for me...If you have ever had your husband/boyfriend do this for you, you know what I am talking about lol

What you will need:

1) In a small bowl I mix together equal parts facial cleanser and vinegar, usually about 2 tbsp of each. You could use the vinegar mixed with a little water if you choose because vinegar is a disinfectant. I like to use facial cleanser because it helps with cleaning and it makes the vinegar smell non-existent.

2) I pour 2 tbsp of Extra Virgin Olive Oil into a separate small bowl. When you was your brushes the bristles seem to dry out so it is essential to use Extra Virgin Olive Oil as a conditioner.

3) Have a stream of luke warm water running. It's important to not have the water too warm because it can cause the glue to loosen on the handle which can lead to fall out from your brushes.

4) Next I take the makeup brush and dip it into each of the 2 bowls. You don't need a ton of product, just enough to work into the bristles.

5) Swirl the brush into the palm of your hand to work the cleaner into the brush and to remove all of the makeup and buildup on the brush.

6) Run the bristle part of the brush under the water making sure all of the cleaner is gone. I swirl the brush on my palm while rinsing as well because I feel it really gets the cleaner out. It is VERY important to keep the stream of water on the bristles because if you get the handle too wet it can cause the wood to swell and bristle fallout due to the glue breaking down. Make sure to keep the brush angled downward at an angle when rinsing.

7) When the brush is rinsed softly wring out the brush and mold the bristles to its correct form. You don't want the brush to dry all crazy.

8) I normally use a clean towel but I was rushing so I used paper towel this time to set the brushes out to dry on. You want to set the brushes on a downward slight angle so that any water left on the brush will not go into the rod. As you can see below I set mine at a high angle but I only left them like that for about 20 minutes because I feel like they drain faster that way. You DO NOT want to leave them like this because your bristles will dry curved. After about 20 minutes I lower them to only have a slight angle.

9) Let them completely dry. This usually takes about 15- 20 hours.

Quick Tip: If your brush rod has product buildup on it or looks gross, take a small amount of baby oil on a paper towel and rub it on the rod to clean it. Make sure to wipe all of the baby oil off though and your brush rod will look sparkling new.

You should clean your brushes at least once a week and it is best to clean foundation and eye liner brushes daily. I know there are tons of other popular methods that work great, this is just the method I prefer. Make sure to follow me on Twitter and Google+

Top 10 Beauty Buy Tag

First I want to start off by giving a shout out to the awesome chicks Julie and Ashley at 20/30 GLAM. They are new beauty bloggers that I absolutely adore. I check their page daily and I love how down to earth they are. They have great posts about beauty products and they are growing a following pretty quickly. So def. check out their blog and show them some love. Obviously this tag is to share my top 10 beauty buys and I am going to do just that :)

Burberry Classic by Burberry
I am telling y'all this perfume smells amazing. It is my favorite perfume of all time and no matter how many other perfumes I buy, in my opinion, they never top Burberry Classic. I am excited for Taylor Swifts new perfume that just came out because it smells almost identical to Burberry Classic.

Chella Highlighter Pencil in Ivory Lace
I got this pencil in my June Ipsy bag and it was love at first sight. This is now a constant in my beauty routine. It has so many uses and I really have no idea how I lived without it. You can use it to highlight the brow bone, cupids bow, cheek bones, bridge of the nose, and the water line to help widen your eyes.

It's a 10 Miracle Leave-In
Every October to support breast cancer awareness month they sell it's a 10 in a pink bottle and I love it. This product literally lasts me so long that when October rolls around and I buy a new bottle, I am still using my old one. I buy it every year not only because I love the pink packaging but I love that sales proceeds go to help save the ta-ta's. Most people just spray this directly into the hair but my hair stylist friend told me to spray a few squirts in my hand and then run my fingers through my hair for best result and she was right. It applies better and that is why it lasts so much longer for me. It makes my hair feel amazing and it smells good too!

Kendra Volume Hairspray
I also purchase my favorite hairspray in October as well because they support breast cancer awareness month. I love this hairspray because it smells so good and it holds my style without making my hair hard. It pumps up the volume in my hair and it a great finishing spray. When I cut my hair short this hairspray was a god send for me. When I cut my hair I did not think about what would happen to my hair in hot & humid weather. It was awful. The same stylist friend of mine who cut my hair and recommended it's a 10 also recommended Kendra hairspray to help my hair keep its style all day. I am forever indebted to her lol.

Avon Super Shock Mascara
I tried this mascara on a whim a few years ago and I fell in love. It gives me the most amazing volume and it makes me look like I am wearing falsies. It doesn't clump and the bottle is actually pretty big so you get a lot of product for around $8. I occasionally buy new mascara to try out and I always go right back to this one. It never fails me.

E.L.F. Eyebrow Kit in Medium
I purchased this almost 2 months ago and I really like it. My ELF Haul shows everything that I purchased and my thoughts on them if you would like to check it out (shameless plug lol). I used to use a pencil to fill in my eyebrows and I would spend forever buffing them out because I guess I am too rough when I use it lol but I have not had this problem since I started using this kit. My eyebrows look so natural and they stay in place all day long. No one likes a wandering eyebrow y'all!

Rimmel Gentle Eye Make Up Remover
This stuff takes my makeup off effortlessly. It is so refreshing and I love that I don't have to scrub at my eyes to get results. The only thing I don't like about this is that it has a consistency of water and too much can come out and get wasted. It really does need a pump or something to make it more efficient.

Wet n Wild Matte Lipstick
These lipsticks apply so beautifully and really have a great finish. They don't make your lips dry considering they are matte. They have a nice selection and the price is amazing!

Cover Girl 3 in 1 Foundation
I love all of the shades that Cover Girl has and this foundation is amazing. It blends so well and it leaves my skin feeling silky smooth. It also has decent coverage without the 'cakey' look.

Be a Bombshell Blush
I received this blush in my very first IPSY bag and I have been using this brand of blush ever since. It has a great pigmentation and it applies nicely. The brand has other products but I have not tried them yet.

I went into a little more detail about the products but I always like to include my experience when I am talking about products I love. Instead of tagging certain bloggers, I am tagging you! Yea you, anyone that reads it. This method went over well with the last tag I did and I loved it when y'all sent me the links to check out your post. So make sure and let me know your link so I can check it out and see what your top 10 beauty buys are. Again, make sure to check out 20/30 GLAM!

My Favorite Beauty Bargain Sites

We all know that beauty products, clothes, & accessories can add up. Of  course it is always fun to go to department and high end stores and drop a wad of cash but sometimes that is just not possible. So what is a broke college girl who loves beauty products to do when she wants something fabulous but at an affordable price? Hit the internet girl! I thought it would be fun to share a couple of the sites that I have come across that have quality items at a great price.

All images are products from the Shop Lately website.

Shop Lately is my go to site for all things accessories. They have bags, a huge selection of jewelry, makeup, hats, scarves, and more. They always have an amazing sales section that's jam packed with cute pieces. I love their whole site but I mostly shop in the sales section because the deals are so good. I purchased a few of my giveaway items from this site and I have to say, they are super cute! I also LOVE that they give you a $5 store credit when you sign up and you only have to spend $10 to use it. So a $10 order will only cost you $ it! Here are a few items from their site. Sign up here if you are interested.

All images are products from

Y'all I am seriously in LOVE with this site. Everything is under $10 and they actually have some nice things. They have clothing, shoes, and accessories for men, women, boys, and girls. They also have makeup, hand bags, jewelry, watches, intimates, ect. I also love that they carry plus size clothing as well. I can spend hours on this site. They carry NYX makeup at a wonderful price and they have some killer heels. This site offers a $10 credit for every friend that you awesome is that? If you would like to check them out, sign up here.

All images are of Royal Care Cosmetic Products

This is a new site for me that I can not wait to purchase from them. I came across them online so I looked up reviews and I was surprised at all the positive feedback. They have amazing prices on eye, lip, and face palettes and I especially love their brushes. The brushes get amazing reviews and are dupes of the infamous Sigma brushes but at a fraction of the cost. Look up reviews on YouTube and on Google or look at the feedback on their site because it really is impressive. Like I said, I can not wait to get these brushes. I just bought a 32 set of makeup brushes but I did not get any kabuki brushes with it so that is next on my list. Check them out here if you are interested!

I would love to know some of your favorite sites as well. Leave them in the comments below so that I can check em' out. Also don't forget about the 150 GFC follow giveaway. We are so close so if you like reading my page, please share it. You can also follow me on twitter now...its looking a little sad with only 8 followers LOL.

Kiss Speed Lightening Acrylic Nail Review {Updated}

In the last year we have been cutting back on "extra" expenses and one of my contributions was not going to the salon every 2 weeks to get my nails done. With that being said, I started looking for a cheaper alternative that I could do at home that didn't require me being Picasso {spelling?}. I watched tons of video reviews on youtube and the Kiss Speed Lightening Nails seemed to be exactly what I was looking for.

*I tried to work fast and was only able to get pictures on my crappy camera phone, so I apologize in advance for awful pictures. *

The kit claims to give you salon strength acrylic in 1/2 the time. Some people said that they found it at Walgreens for $8.99 and others said $15 so I am not sure if it changes based on where you are located. I paid $15.99 for my kit and it included:
-Clear & White tipped glue on nails, buffer block, nail file, wooden cuticle pusher, acrylic dip powder, brush on gel, and gel activator

The instructions were simple and easy to follow which made the whole process so much better. I was a little apprehensive at first but after the first nail I got the hang of it and glided through the rest of them.

1) Prep the nails like you would noramlly. File nails and push back cuticals.

2) Choose whether you want white tips or clear ones. Then find the sizes that you will need and have them lined up and ready.

3) Brush the gel on the walls of the inside of the nail and apply it to your nail. You want to make sure that the edges and middle are applied with no air bubbles. Apply pressure for 30 seconds.

4) Trim the nail tips with nail clippers and file them down to your perferred length. Make sure that the nails on both hands are even.

5) Apply the brush on gel to the entire nail and then dip it into the acrylic powder and tap off the excess. After tapping off the excess I went ahead and blew the nail off and wiped it lightly to take the excess off.

6) After dipping the nails the first time you will want to brush them with the brush on gel and dip again, repeating step 5. Once this is done I applied a final gel brush on coat and sprayed the nails with 2 pumps of the gel activator. You want to make sure an wipe the brush off on a piece of paper towel before dipping back into the brush on gel to ensure that the acrylic powder does not get into the gel bottle.

7.) Leave them as they are or style them. I used Julep's 'Camille' from the Classic With a Twist collection on the tips and Julep's top coat for a nice clean finish. I also used cuticle oil to refresh my cuticles when I was finished.

I really liked that the gel was brush on like a nail polish. It made the application easy and smooth. I also liked that all I had to do was dip and spray. It took me about 45 minutes to an hour to do and it does look professional. I was really surprised at how easy this nail kit is. My nails look like I went to the salon and got a set of acrylics. Most of the reviews I read said that they lasted about 2 weeks so I will have to update in a few weeks and let y'all know. I also like that there are at least 2 applications in this kit so I am getting my moneys worth.

I promised that I would let y'all know how these nails lasted, tips, and my final thoughts....and your girl is gonna deliver. It has been about 2 weeks and I have used both sets of nails that come with the kit so that I could give an accurate opinion. The first set that I applied (above) lasted not quite a week but I believe it was entirely my fault. In my rush to get them finished I did get a little of the acrylic on my cuticle which lead to those few nails lifting a lot faster than normal. The nails that weren't touching the cuticle were strong and looked great. I got tons of compliments on them and people were surprised when I said I did them myself with the kit. I wish that I would have been a little more careful when I applied them because the white tips were my favorite.

Once the first set of nails went to hell in a hand basket because of the lifting I applied the clear tipped nails so I could do a solid color nail. Application was so much easier this time since I had previous experience and I was really careful not to get it on my cuticle this time. These lasted for about a week and a half and they probably would have lasted longer but I went bowling and snapped 4 nails in the process. I was going to leave the remaining nails on to see how much longer lasted but I went to apply for a few part time jobs and I did not want to look a hot mess with missing nails LOL. This set looked great as well and they really did look professional. I wish I would have gotten a good picture but my camera has been acting like a little booger.

My final advice:
Make sure to have a little acetone and a tiny bristled brush readily available to remove any acrylic that many get on the cuticle. This is so important because it can dramatically increase the longevity of the nails. I would really get your own super glue to glue the nails on because the gel glue just didn't seem very strong when used as a nail glue. Also, I would purchase the acrylic brush cleaner that comes in a nail polish bottle so that you can dip the brush in it between each nail. Wiping the excess acrylic off on a paper towel does get excess acrylic powder off but not all of it so it can make your brush hard and the gel clumpy. Overall I would say that this is a great kit for ladies on a budget or when you just don't have time to go to the salon. It does have a great finish when you get used to how it works. Just take your time. Lots of people said that they got the kit at walgreens for $8.99 while others said they paid $15.99. I am guessing maybe they get it during sales time because I got it for $15.99. I don't think I would pay that much for the kit again but I would def purchase multiples of the product if I caught it on sale.

I hope this helped!

Saturday Night & I've Got No Plans...

so I'm gonna sit at home and do the loner dance.

LMAO this video cracks me up every time I watch it. I am currently doing the loner dance, and loving it lol. We have been SO busy this whole week and everyday has been filled with with errands and to-do lists. My moms car broke down last weekend (transmission) so Steven, being the sexy little mechanic he is, has been working all day at his regular job and then coming home and working on moms car until about midnight every day this week. Even though he has been in the garage it seems like we haven't seen each other in a year lol.

With Steven working on moms car, I have been left with the task of 'driving Miss Daisy' (mom). I don't know why this saying is what comes to mind lol but she does have lots of errands, work, school enrollments, doctors appointments, ect. ALL IN ONE WEEK! I don't know how someone can have so much to do lol but she does.

A couple of weeks ago I got stopped at a checkpoint..... and y'all I got 3 tickets -_- The first 2 things were easy to fix but the 3rd ticket was for having an Indiana drivers license....that expired on my birthday in May. I can not believe that I let them expire but honestly I never thought about it. What a crappy birthday present lol. So I thought it would be a simple little process to get my license switched to Kentucky but I was SOO wrong. I had to get clearance letters and all this other glitter and jazz and they still made me do the chicken dance to get them.....okay I'm exaggerating, but it sure felt like it. It took forever working with both Indiana and Kentucky's DMV offices and it always ended with a headache. Anyways, in the middle of driving mom to a million places this week I was getting proof documents, new license, and paying a crap load of money so that I could go to court yesterday to show I fixed it all (never let your license expire), and running my normal weekly errands. I seriously felt ragged by last night. I was a hot mess and so tired so I decided today, I will stay in my pajamas all day, not do a damn thing with my hair, and be a relaxed hot mess. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! I even got to spend some time with Steven :)

So I am gladly doing the loner dance tonight!
I don't do these posts often because they are so personal and people said I shouldn't get personal on my blog, when I first started, but my thought tonight... I do what I want (I'm saying this in the most sarcastic, exaggerated voice)! So if you made it to the end of this post, you're awesome!

And FINALLY, I am wanting to host a giveaway when I reach 150 followers and I am wondering what y'all would like to see included. Some of my favorite hair products? Make-up? Beauty essentials? Jewelry pieces? Maybe accessories like scarves? A little bit of everything? I thought about a gift card but that's no fun LOL. Anyways, y'all let me know in the comments.

I just got an official blog twitter, so FOLLOW me :)

Mini E.L.F. Haul & Reviews

I told y'all in my makeup confessionals that I was now having to buy all brand new makeup and the $$ has been adding up. I decided to check out E.L.F. because lots of bloggers and vloggers kept mentioning the brand and their favorite products. I remember E.L.F. products being at Wal-Mart a LONG time ago but they weren't that great. When I got to the site I was pleasantly surprised about the prices and all of the products. I got some of the most recommended products (did I mention I am addicted to YouTube lol) and some that I had not seen before.

I have been using all of these products daily for the last 2 weeks so that I could let y'all know my thoughts.

Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder in 'St. Lucia'

Since I am so pale I was looking for a bronzer that did not have a lot of shimmer in it and would blend well. This bronzer can be very dark if you apply too much so I would make sure to only get a little bit on the brush and it would blend out nicely. The blush really doesn't do much for me so I have only used it a couple of times but it is still nice. There is a little bit of shimmer in the bronzer but it isn't noticeable once blended.

Eyelid Primer in 'Sheer'

I never really used a eyelid primer before but it makes a huge difference. I like this because a little goes a long way and it really helps my shadow stay in place all day. I have 'fluffy' eyelids so the color usually creases but not when I use this primer. It says that it is sheer but I think that it has a nude color to it because it covers all of the redness on my eyelids, which I like.

Eyebrow Kit in 'Medium'

I was nervous about getting this but it was raved about on other blogs and vlogs so I decided to give it a try.....I LOVE IT! It is so simple to use. One side is a gel and the other a powder. The color is really nice and it stays in place all day. I now see why so many people were talking about it. I def. recommend it!

Mineral Infused Face Primer in 'tine adjusting green'

I have a lot of redness on my face so I thought I would try this to correct it. First, I have to say, this primer makes my skin feel SOOO smooth and silky. You only need the amount pictured above so it should last awhile. My foundation does seem to apply better and look better. I don't see much of a difference with the redness so I don't think it really helps with that. I really like this pump though lol it is cute.

Lip Lock Pencil in 'Clear'

It says that it keeps your lipstick from feathering or budging and it does just that. I put it on before I apply lipstick and after as a top coat and it really does keep my lipstick in place longer. I used to worry when I wore red lipstick but this little lip lock really locks the color in.

Makeup Mist & Set in 'Clear'

I was looking at other setting sprays and I just couldn't find it in me to buy a setting spray for $20-$30 and not know if it is going to work. I gave this one a try because it was a decent price and it had really good reviews. The pump is a little weird and the spray can come out too powerful but that was fixed by using another pump and the bottle was sticky when I got it (yuck). Other than those two things, I really like the product. Today I was actually sitting on my moms porch for a few hours and the sun was beaming on us and my makeup stayed in place the whole time. I would say that is a success. I did not notice excess oiliness or anything.

Flat Top Powder Brush

Vloggers were raving about this brush and how it is nice for applying foundation so I had to see what the hype was about. I love this brush! It is really great for foundation application and my foundation looks so nice and seamless because of how well this blends. I think that I am going to order a few more. It did have a chemical smell when I first got it but washing it took the smell away. The bristles are soft yet firm and it doesn't soak up the foundation.

H.D. Undereye Setting Power in 'Sheer'

Okay I am not sure about this product. It did set my makeup nicely BUT I feel like it has way too much shimmer in it for under my eyes. I have been using a setting powder from coastal scents that I really like and this was really no comparison. Maybe I will give it a try again and see how it goes but I am just not feeling it. And the jar is tiny but it is cute.

Have you used any of these? What were your thoughts?
