Saying Goodbye to Matilda

Unfortunately, early this morning our family dog Matilda passed away. I always show pictures of my fur baby Smokey but I also have a fur sister named Matilda that has been our family pet for almost 12 years. She was the kindest little sweetheart ever but she never let anyone or anything mess with her family. Thinking over the years how much impact she has had on not only our life but our friends and family as well, is amazing. Everyone loved her and she loved them. Smokey is so lost right now. She was his first and only doggie crush, she taught him how to fluff a blanket to get it just right for a nap, how to tap his feet to get what he wanted right then, and he genuinely loved her.

Yesterday, I went to moms and spent the afternoon and evening taking practice pictures and Matilda hung out with me the whole time. She refused to let me get shots of her at first but then at the end she gave in and let me get a few good ones. I am so glad that I got in a good hang out 'sesh' with her and she let me get happy pictures of her. I was going to post a few projects that I have been working on today but instead I am going to share pictures of one of my favorite girls, Tilda-poo.

We are going to miss her so much and I am so happy that I got to spend so many years with her.

Big Thank You...

I shared with you guys last week that I won a giveaway for a Canon EOS Rebel T3i but I wanted send out a special thanks to the ladies for being so nice and providing the chance of making one of my dreams come true. So many people have this camera that I feel foolish saying that it is something that I would not have been able to afford for a LONG time, but it's the truth. This camera was something that I wanted SO bad and I was completely shocked when I found out I won.

I found out last Monday that I won & today I got the camera in the mail. How awesome is that? I didn't expect to get it so quickly! I want to first off thank Jamielyn at i heart nap time again for hosting the giveaway. This is the first time I have won a giveaway so I got to experience the full effect of excitement, disbelief, and of course I got something that I always wanted. Kuddos to the bloggers that work to host these giveaways because it really does make a difference in peoples lives {it sounds so sappy but it is so true}. I also want to say a huge thank you to Amy at Today's Mama. She was the one who contacted me and worked with me on shipping and validation. She got the prize to me so fast. I think there were 8 other winners from the giveaway so for her to work so quickly to get all of our stuff finished was awesome!

So of course as soon as I got the package, I ripped it open and took a picture..lol.

{I probably should have edited this but I was so excited I skipped that whole step & uploaded it to facebook}

I immediately charged the batteries and started playing with it. I have not read the manuals or watched the handy little disks yet but I will get to it. Here are some snaps I took while playing around:

{Someone was shocked LOL}

None of these are edited and are straight from the camera. I am seriously in love with this camera. I have so much to learn and I can not wait to start using other settings.
Check out the ladies sites. They not only have awesome giveaways but awesome posts about recipes, crafts, parenting info, and so much more.

TRESemme Platinum Strength Renewing Deep Conditioning Treatment {Review}

I am a member of BzzAgent and almost 2 months ago I joined the TRESemme Platinum Strength Renewing Deep Conditioning Treatment campaign. I was sent the product to try multiple times and when I got to experience the full effect, I would give my honest opinion of the product. I completed all of my requirements on their site a month ago and I continued to it at least once a week.

I had such great results that I decided to share it on my personal Facebook It was a HUGE hit. Many of my friends purchased it, loved it, and I was constantly getting messages from someone new who wanted to tell me how great it was. So I decided to share my thoughts and opinions with you about it as well.

I personally LOVE LOVE LOVE TRESemme products. They have great quality products at reasonable, budget friendly prices. I use quite a few of their products daily but had not tried the Platinum Strength Renewing Deep Conditioning Treatment. It advertises that it can erase up to 2 years of damage in just 5 uses. Let me tell you, it really works and it is quick and simple to use! Shampoo your hair like normal and then apply a generous amount of the conditioning treatment in your hair and let it sit for 5 minutes. I shave my legs or go ahead and wash my body while I am waiting the 5 minutes so it's not like I am loosing any time. When the 5 minutes are up, rinse, and your done. I noticed a big difference after one use and I was so pleased. After using it for a about a month in a half or so I can say, this product is wonderful. My hair gets so dry in the winter and using a straightener all the time doesn't help, so this was a great rejuvenation for my hair. It is silky smooth, feels and looks healthier, and I now have little hair breakage. You can find it at any drugstore or mass chain stores like Walmart target, ect. for around $5.99. This product is worth the money and has become a go to product for me.

Seriously, try it and let me know what you think. I have a feeling that you wont be disappointed!

I received this product for free from Bzzagent.com but my opinions are strictly my own.

Ipsy { April Reveal }

I patiently waited and I finally got off the Ipsy wait list in time to get Aprils bag. I love beauty subscription services and have developed a little addiction to them. Ipsy is only $10 per month and you receive a glam bag with deluxe and full size samples.

How can you say no, right?

Every month has a different theme and April's theme is 'Pretty in Pink'. Even though I was excited about my first bag, I was also nervous because the only reason I got off the wait list is because of all the cancellations after March's bag. The shipping was surprisingly fast and I loved the packaging. There is nothing like opening your mailbox and there being a hot pink surprise package inside.

April 'Pretty in Pink' Ipsy Bag:

{You see that hot pink package? Yea, how can you not be excited seeing that in your mailbox}

-Little white glam bag that I love. It is sturdy and the perfect size to throw in my purse.
-Sexy Hair Soy Renewal {which is fantastic, it took the frizz right out of my hair}
-Two Cosmetics Duo Eye Shadow in 'Heartache' $5.75
-Be a Bombshell Blush in 'Sweet Cheeks' $16
-Sation Nail Lacquer in 'Love at First Byte' $3.50

The blush is absolutely gorgeous and I use it everyday. It replaced my old blush and I think I will stick with this brand and color. The Sation polish is very light and I had to put on 3 coats to get a solid color but it is pretty.

I had to put the eye shadow on multiple times in order for it to show up. I will use it in the future but next time I will use it as a build with other shadows.

That's a total of $25.25 for those 3 products! I say it is well worth the $10 I spent, especially since I will get use every single item I received. I can not wait to see what is in May's bag. If you want to know more about Ipsy, here is their About Ipsy Page.

P.S.- I can not wait to get my new Canon Rebel t3i on Monday, these pictures are awful.

Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner!

Seriously, I can barely contain myself right now. I have been wanting a Canon Rebel T3i for SOO long but I knew that it was something I would not be getting any time soon. I have been stalking this camera online for a long time, and last week I even mentioned in my Liebster Award post that I would give a kidney for a fancy smancy Canon camera lol.

So, imagine my complete shock when I got an email last night stating that I WON a Canon EOS Rebel T3i 18 MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera and DIGIC 4 Imaging with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens.

{Facebook confirmation announcement today}

I totally forgot that I entered I heart nap time's 'Get Screened Canon Rebel Giveaway'. I honestly never thought that I would win because I never win anything. I can not even explain how excited I am right now. I want to thank all of the blogs that came together and hosted the giveaway and making this little dream of mine come true. I can't wait to get it and start snapping some awesome pictures.

Also, I have to say, I am almost to 100 followers. You guys are seriously awesome! On March 22nd I reached my first goal of hitting 20 followers and I can not believe that in less than a month I have gained almost 80 followers.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!

Springtime Spa Treatment: Treat Your Skin to Paradise

How great would it be to feel renewed and re-energized after a stressful day without having to book an appointment? Spa treatments are no longer just for vacations!

After returning from my recent trip to Honolulu I started thinking about how we often limit relaxation to only a few days throughout the year. My stay at the Sheraton’s Waikiki Khakara Hotel and Spa, one of the top hotels in Honolulu for spa treatments, left me refreshed, relaxed and re-energized. So I decided to bring a piece of paradise home with me …

Here is a heavenly and rejuvenating DIY Spa Treatment that I picked specially for Spring. It is sure to brighten, gently exfoliate and energize your skin while getting you in the mood for short sleeves and lawn games!

Coconut Ginger Body Scrub

2 tablespoons Coconut Oil
1 tablespoon Plain Applesauce or Apple Puree
1 tablespoon Agave Nectar
1 teaspoon Ginger Powder
3 tablespoons of Raw Sugar

Optional: A couple of drops of your favorite essential oil (a little goes a long way with essential oils!). With this particular scrub I recommend botanicals like Rose or Geranium.

In a small bowl combine Coconut Oil, Applesauce, and Agave. Mix these ingredients until they are fully and evenly blended. Add the Ginger and Sugar.

Run a hot bath or shower. Using a spoon to scoop manageable amounts of the scrub into your hand and gently scrub your entire body working your way up from your feet. After exfoliating, rinse with a wet washcloth to scrub away any excess.

I hope your skin loves this treatment as much as mine does!

Note: Even though these are all natural and edible ingredients, if you tend toward having sensitive skin, I suggest trying the recipe on a small patch prior to slathering it on your whole body!

AdSense Denial...Now What?

I have been contemplating running ads on my blog to make a little extra cash. I have read article after article on how to do this.

The problem?
I did not know it was so hard to get approved by AdSense.

I know that my blog is not large so I was disappointed but not shocked that I was denied. I even added one of those pesky privacy policy tabs. Now that I am coming to terms with the fact that I will not be accepted as an AdSense user, I need your help. What are some agencies that you go through, that you would recommend? I am really considering Amazon or Chitika but I'm not totally sure. If you have advice, it would be greatly appreciated I have reached out to a few larger bloggers for a little guidance but I have had no luck in getting a response.

If you would like to lend your expertise and help me through this...please email me at justinawho@gmail.com or comment. I know that it is not much, but in return for your help I could list your blog button on my sidebar or if you have a better idea let me know. I am sure something can be worked out.

Liebster Award

I love a Liebster award and when Melanie from My Imperfection told me she nominated me, this is how I felt:

So I would like to thank you Melanie for this joyous occasion lol.

Liebsters are a way for blogs with less than 200 followers to connect with other bloggers, share a little more about yourself, and a way to help promote other small blogs. I love this concept because small blogs need a little lovin' too!

What's the rules, you ask?

My Questions From Melanie:
What is your favorite meal to make for your family?
Chicken Pot Pie or Steak Fajitas

What do you want to make (food/meal) that you haven't yet?
I don't think Steven would be too happy but I would love to try and make asparagus.

What is your favorite television show of all time, including those that are no longer on air?
Friends...I can watch the episodes OVER and OVER.

What is your favorite movie of all time?
It's a tie between Dirty Dancing and Never Been Kissed

When someone asks you what author they should check out, who do promote?
Is it bad that I don't have a favorite author? If I like a book and find it interesting then I read it. I don't follow specific authors.

Do you play Facebook games? If so, what ones?
I am obsessed with Words With Friends..like it's a problem how addicted I am.

How did you meet your significant other (if you have one)?
I moved to a tiny town called Lagro and I was having a bonfire at my house and he showed up and we have been together ever since. We were also in 2nd grade together but I moved out of state and we didn't meet again until 10th grade.

What is your favorite dish that your mother/father made for you when you were growing up? Do you make it for your family now?
We are southern {Mississippi raised} so gumbo was always a dish served in our family and it is the one dish that continues to be made now.

What is your favorite social media platform?
I love Facebook. I have a twitter but I can never get interested in it.

Twilight vs. Hunger Games, who wins?
Although I love Twilight, I have to say Hunger Games all the way

the winner of the last question vs Harry Potter, who wins?
The only thing I got into with Harry Potter was guessing the weird jelly beans they made {Do you remember the snot and booger ones?} So again I am going to say Hunger Games.

11 Random Facts About Me:

1. I never lost 2 of my baby teeth so at 19 I had them pulled and I'm still waiting for the big girl teeth to come in{This means the tooth fairy owes me some moolah for those 2, I got ripped off lol}

3. As soon as I enter my house I have to put on sweat pants.

Why Bloglovin?

Can someone answer this for me please?

I love Google Friend Connect and I have no idea why they would want to get rid of it. I am still kind of new to blogging so I am thinking that maybe I have not experienced the bad of it like others have. People seem to be excited about Bloglovin but really I am dreading it. I don't like the idea of going to a separate website to see what bloggers are posting and I will be honest, I think their site is kind of confusing. I am in no way bashing Bloglovin....I am just wondering why everyone chose it as a switch over. Is there something that I am missing? Will Bloglovin be the only way to count followers now? Will it be like starting over again? Please if you have any great links or videos or anything that can help me figure out Bloglovin..I would greatly appreciate it. I have been through ALL of the ones on their site so I need to find great outside resources.

Again, this is not me bashing Bloglovin, so please, no hate mail. I am really just trying to figure it out.
My blog is just now starting to take off { I seriously gained 73 followers in 17 days } and I am so nervous that I will have to start over. This switch over is probably going to hurt smaller blogs who don't have a great build up of readers like larger blogs.

Wardrobe Wednesday {Men's Edition}

The last couple of weeks we have been trying to update Stevens wardrobe for summer.

It has been a nightmare.

He could care less about 'high fashion' style {I love this about him}. With that being said, he is so picky when it comes to buying clothes. He complains all the time about shopping with me but he is so much worse. We spent hours in the store for him to get one pair of shorts and a couple of shirts...really?!
All to come home and throw on basketball shorts and a plain jane t-shirt!!

Is your lovely man the same when it comes to clothes?
These shopping adventures inspired me to change it up a bit for Wardrobe Wednesday this week.
So here's the gentleman's edition of this weeks fashion picks:

I love a man in a blazer and jeans. I so wish I could get Steven to try this...wishful thinking lol.

Okay...I know he isn't wearing anything close to a wardrobe BUT come on ladies, do I really need to explain why this one is necessary?

I know this is really getting posted on Thursday but I had finals people! I am a little behind this week so I threw in a hot man picture to make up for it LOL.
