Influenster Violet Voxbox

This month I was selected to receive the Violet VoxBox from Influenster.I'm sure that most of you know what Influenster and VoxBoxs are but for those of you who don't; Influenster is a free site that users can write product reviews, ask questions about the product, and get feedback on a product before deciding to purchase. Influenster has a program where they provide a 'VoxBox' to select users that is filled with products that they feel you would enjoy, based on your review choices, so that the user can provide their feedback on their site and social media.

The Violet VoxBox was sent to beauty lovers and is inspired by this season's dark moody florals. Each box contained 3 "for sure" products and 1 or more of the "optional" products. My box contained:

Goody Athletique Headbands - $6
I love to use this headband when I am putting on my makeup or washing my face. It holds the hair back really well and it has a velcro strap in the back to make it fit comfortably. I am not sure that this would work for me when working out because it does slip a bit but it is perfect for my needs.

Sally Hansen New Triple Shine Polish in 'Dive In' - $4.99
This product claims to be a daily defense from water and wear and you will have the shiniest nails ever.
Unfortunately this polish did not live up to any of its claims for me. I was so excited when I seen it because the color was a gorgeous mint blue. I think this polish is one of the dullest polishes I have used and only after I added a top coat did it actually shine. After one day it was chipped horribly and I removed it. It did not live up to its claims and I would not recommend this color to anyone. I have not tried any of the other colors yet but based on the results of this one, I most likely will not be purchasing them.

SoyJoy in 'Dark Chocolate Cherry' - $0.99
Oh lord this little health bar was not for me. I did not think that it tasted good at all and this is not a snack that I would ever eat again. I'm sure that is just because it was super healthy LOL

Montagne Jeunesse Clay Spas - $2.49
This little mask was like a spa in a bag. It was so refreshing and a nice way to relax before bed. The holes win the mask were a little off but after a little adjusting it was fine. The best part was it really did minimize my pores and made my face look brighter. I plan on purchasing more of these for those long nights of homework or during finals.

Not Your Mother's Clean Freak Refreshing Dry Shampoo - $5.99
I really enjoyed this dry shampoo. It left my hair feeling light and oil free and I like that it blended in well. I will have a full review with pictures up soon :)

Have you tried any of these products? What are your thoughts? Influenster is currently by invite only so if you are interested in joining you can leave your email address below or email it to me at justinawho@gmail.com.

I hope that you have a fun and happy New Year!

TAG: Thankful Blogger Friends

I was tagged by Renny the incredibly sweet blogger at Sincerely Renny. If you don't follow her already, check her out she has awesome reviews and product swatches.

YOUR BLOG
(Please be specific in your answers so we can all learn something.)

1. How long have you been blogging?
I started this blog on January 15, 2012 but I quit blogging for a year and then started to seriously blog again in March of 2013.

2. Are there any bloggers who helped you out/encouraged you when you first started your blog?
Y'all I was a hot mess when I first started. I didn't know what to do or how to make things look right...hell, I didn't even know what I wanted my focus to be. I felt so lost and had to buckle down and learn everything I could by reading blog post tutorials. I wish I would have networked from the beginning but as dumb as this sounds, I wasn't quite sure how to.

On a personal note though, Steven was the person who encouraged me the most when I first started out. It was a little embarrassing when I first told him that I was wanting to start blogging full force (in March) but he was incredibly supportive. We moved down to Kentucky where we knew no one but my mom and siblings and it was hard for me at first. I didn't have any close friends here and my anxiety was at an all time high so he thought it was a great way for me to have an outlet and be creative. He didn't understand what a blog was at first but now when I tell him my page views, followers, new blog friends, ect. he is excited for me. I am a lucky girl <3

3. What social media has driven the most traffic to your blog? Is there a platform that you don't use?
I think google+ and twitter drive the most traffic for me. I have an instagram but I barely use it because I don't have a cell phone. We have a cell phone but it is for emergency purposes and Steven uses it when he goes to work but other than that I honestly don't even think about a phone when I am out......is that weird? I'm sure it is. I don't have a blog Facebook published and active right now but it will be coming soon!

4. How often do you post?
LOL I can't help but laugh at this question....I'm awful y'all! I used to post multiple times a week but again I'm a mess and y'all know it lol. I am going to follow my beautiful friend Lily's lead and get myself a calendar and set a dang schedule.

5. Where do you blog?
My office/makeup room is in the middle of being redone so right now I blog down stairs on the couch or in the chair. You see why my life is a mess folks....I have way to many projects/tasks started at one time lol. Steven promised me that we will get my office done before Christmas so that it is ready for my new stuff (this mama finally got herself some Muji organizers and new furniture whoop whoop) that I get for Christmas. This has seriously been a 4 month project and I am so ready for it to be done....we're so close!

6. What camera do you use? What photo editing software do you use?
I use my Canon Rebel 3ti and for quick re-sizing and small edits I like to use picmonkey but for portraits and photos I take of people I use Gimp.

7. How did you come up with your blog name?
My blog name just came to me. When I started my blog I was just laid off from a high paying job that I worked me ass off to get and for the first time since I was 16 years old I had no job. I didn't know what to do with myself and honestly I started to question who I was. It might seem silly that being laid off from a job would lead to all of this but I was a workaholic and it really did define me and made me feel accomplished. I was the first person in that position at such a young age and I was proud of it but due to funding a lot of people lost their jobs. Anyways that's what led me to ask, Justina Who?

8. Do you do any regular series posts on your blog?
I used to do Wardrobe Wednesday & Obsessed Finds on Mondays but not anymore. I think I am going to start Wardrobe Wednesday again but I'm not sure yet. The only other thing that even resembles a series on my blog are my confessions posts. I like doing them but I do them when I feel like it so there is no set structure (this seems to be a pattern for me lol).

9. What draws you to a blog?
I would have to say that the blogger is genuinely nice. I could love the blogs layout and think it looks gorgeous but if the blogger isn't very nice I won't keep reading.

10. What turns you off a blog?
I think that some of the large bloggers lose touch with their readers and they can forget where they came from. (By no means am I saying all large blogs are this way so please no mean comments) I think this is why I like blogs where the blogger is still very interactive with their readers.

11. How many blogs do you subscribe to?
Are they all beauty related?
I follow a bunch and they are a mix between beauty and DIY blogs. I am a DIY addict and me and Steven love doing projects...hence the reason we have like literally 14 DIY projects half finished lmao.

12. When do you generally read blogs?
I like to spend any available time before Steven goes to work with him so I normally read blogs late at night.

13. What is your favorite type of post and why?
I love hauls, reviews, and swatch posts. I like to know what other people think about products and see what the swatches look so those are my favorite.

14. What is your least favorite type of post and why?
I don't like forced sponsored posts that have nothings to do with the blog. I do sponsored posts and share sites that I use but I always make sure that it is relevant to my readers. As bloggers we are all flooded with sponsor offers and while some of them are nice I think we have to choose wisely.

NOW ABOUT YOU
(If there are any you prefer not to answer, just skip!)

Where do you live? Tell us a bit about your city!
I live in central Kentucky and I love it. I live in a city that is big in size but still has a small town feel.

What about your home?
We live in a 3 story townhouse. I love it BUT I hate all of the stairs. The laundry room is on the bottom floor and the bedrooms are on the 3rd floor so laundry is a big ol' pain in the arse.

Single or Taken?
Taken <3

Do you have children?
No but we are trying. Doctors and doctors and doctors, oh my! We never thought we would be having the difficulty that we are but we are hopeful.

Do you have pets?
Yes, my fur babies Smokey & Piper.

Do you have a "day job"?
No but I am actively looking. It has been so nice being a stay at home "wife" the last year but I am so ready to start working again. I am currently completing a 2 year degree in 1 year so my school schedule is quite demanding but a part time job would be perfect for me. Steven is wanting me to continue to stay home until I am done with school but I don't think I can wait a few more months.

How tall are you?
I'm a shorty y'all. 5'2".

Do you have siblings?
Yes, there's a bunch of us! lol I have 3 sisters and 2 brothers

3 words to describe yourself?
OCD, Compassionate, & Funny

3 favorite bands/ musicians?
Metallica, Blake Shelton, Beetles, Nirvana, Chanel West Coast (listen to her newest album, I love it), Lorde....I can't pick just 3 lol I listen to all different genres so I have a bunch of favorites.

3 random/weird facts about you?
-I love watching Aziz Ansari's stand up routines. He is my all time favorite comedian.
-I have tennis shoes that are literally 5 years old and still look new even though I wear them often.
-My brother (the 15 year old) comes and spends every weekend with me and we have Doctor Who marathons and eat brownies.

Holy moly, if you made it to the end of this give yourself a pat on your back and thank you for reading a little more about me. If you would like to do this tag go for it..your all tagged :)

LORAC Pro To Go Palette Review & Swatches

LORAC has hit the beauty world by storm and this is a storm that I am glad to be apart of. I originally wanted the LORAC PRO palette but since they were sold out at both Ulta and Sephora, I went ahead and snagged the LORAC PRO TO GO palette instead. Don't fret ladies, I forced Steven to buy me the LORAC PRO for Christmas soooo I will have that baby in my hands in a mere 15 days. Oh yeah! Even though this palette is compact and travel friendly, it should not be under estimated.

The palette is folded up with a mirror on each side and held shut by magnets. You can unfold the whole palette when your using it or you can use one side at a time, which ever you prefer. The eye shadows are on one side and the blushes and bronzer are on the other. It does come with two small brushes but they really aren't usable in my opinion.

There are 6 shadows in this palette, 3 matte and 3 shimmer. I think that LORAC has some of the most buttery shadows I have ever used.  The palette has the perfect colors for creating a light or dark smokey eye.

Pearl, Chai, and Mink are the shimmer shades.
Shell, Cafe, and Black are the matte shades.
As you can see they are all very pigmented.

There are 2 blushes in this palette and 1 bronzer. The blushes are true to their name and very pigmented. They look so beautiful on the cheeks and blend out beautifully as well. The bronzer does not work as a all over bronzer for me but it is nice as a contour. I have only used it a few times so far but I really like it.

Coral is a shimmer blush while both Pink and Bronze are mattes.

The Lorac Pro To Go palette retails for $38 and I believe that it is worth every penny. Even though the palette is compact, it contains all full size shadows and blushes. This palette is perfect for traveling because you could take this with you and have your shadow, blushes, and bronzer all in one.

Have you tried this palette yet? What are your thoughts?

I also wanted to let y'all know that the blog might look a little whacky in the next few days because I am going to start applying all of my new designs for the background and sidebar. So bear with me while I get it all switched over.

XoXo,

November Favorites

I can not believe how fast Thanksgiving has come and gone but I don't care because it is finally my favorite time of year. Can I get a woot woot for Christmas? I know, I am talking about Chrsitmas during my November favorites but y'all I just can't help it! Okay I'll shut up and move on to my favorites, if not before I know it I'll be on a holly jolly tangent LOL

Burberry London Classic
I have told y'all a million times that this is my favorite perfume of all time but I have a confession...I cheated. Yes, I cheated on ol' faithful the last couple of months trying out new scents to see if I found any new scents that I loved. I did like a few of the scents but nothing stood a chance next to this baby. What I love most about this perfume is that Steven loves it even more.....I just can't keep his hands off me ;)

L'oreal Youth Code Texture Perfector
I was in a car wreck when I was 16 and my face went threw the windshield. Since then I have been so self conscious of my skin texture on my face. My whole face was cut up and I can cover the scars on the outer perimeter of my face but the little bumps cant be. I know this isn't going to be a miracle cream but I am hoping that it will help a little with the texture and reduce my pores. I don't think I have used it long enough to see a difference BUT I love the smell and how amazingly smooth it makes my skin. I caught a deal at rite aid and used a coupon so I got this bad boy for only $11.99 so I had to get it. I hope that it will work for me like it has for others.

Butter Rum Candle
This candle only comes out around the holidays so every year we stock up on the large candles to last through the year. This year...we can't find them ANYWHERE. We happened to be in Big Lots a week ago and seen 3 small ones and snatched them up. They are the only ones we can find at any of the stores and we are so sad about it. I don't know what happened.....all I know is these aren't going to last long and I have to find more. I feel like a candle crack addict haha

Lorac Pro To Go Palette
LOVE LOVE LOVE. The shadows are so buttery and I think that Lorac is quickly becoming my favorite shadow brand. The blushes in this palette are just as fabulous.

The Balms Bahama Mama Bronzer
This bronzer is perfect for contouring my abnormally pale face lol.

L'oreal Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black
Y'all I have no idea why I stopped using this mascara. I decided to pick it up again when I was at the drug store and I am so glad I did. I love it.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer
Ever since I first tried this concealer a month ago I have not stopped using it. It doesn't crease and it blends out beautifully. This is definitely a new favorite and going to stay in my everyday routine.

What are your favorites? Whats your thoughts on my favorites? Let me know girls!

Where in the world is....

Did y'all just have "Carmen San Diego" run through your head after reading the title? No? Yes? lol

Anyways, on to the good stuff....
Let me start off by saying how much I have missed y'all! I have been catching up on all of your lovely comments and kind words and it really does show what a wonderful bunch of friends I have. A few weeks ago I felt like I was always playing catch up and because of that I was half a--ing my way through not only my blogs but my school work and most importantly my family. I am a perfectionist so not having my camera to take quality pictures and not having enough time really made me dread putting up posts. Not because I don't like blogging but because I knew it wasn't the best quality. But guess what.....mama got her camera back! We're reunited and it feels so goooooooood!

With all of the doctors appointments and craziness that was going on Steven and I decided that we were just going to take it easy for a few weeks and spend some quality time together. It was so nice because he works so much and he finally got a few days off. We got a lot of Christmas shopping done, had thanksgiving at our house, starting working on my office/makeup room and put our Christmas decorations up. It was so nice because we able to just step back from everything and really enjoy some time together and regroup.

So my beautiful friends I am now ahead on my homework, have my baby (camera) back, and tons of goodness to share with y'all. I mean, look,I have all of this to share with yall:

So be looking for my upcoming hauls, reviews, and swatches my loves. I have missed y'all terribly and I am so sorry for neglecting you :( I am so excited that it is finally Christmas time and I am amped up for all of the holiday posts!

BA Star Lip Pencil Review & Swatch

BA Star is a company that has products directed toward dance, cheerleading, ect but like I have said before it is perfect for the everyday girl as well. Since their products are for performers they are always very pigmented and long lasting.  I am always thrilled to get sent their products through brand backer and this little baby is no exception.

I received the Lip Pencil in the shade 'Holiday Red'. The name fits this lip pencil well because I would absolutely wear this color during the holidays. Before I get into my likes and dislikes, here's a swatch:

I love how vibrant and pigmented the color is and it applies very creamy. This lip pencil is long wearing and lasted about 5 hours on me. It leaves a little bit of a stain as it wears and I like that I can add a little gloss to the stain and it looks great. Even though it applies creamy, I think it dries matte. It is very drying but I don't think it is any worse than other matte lipsticks. I would suggest using lip balm before applying the pencil and then a gloss over. The thing I dislike the most is that it has to be sharpened. I don't like to put my lip products in a sharpener so I wish it had a twist up dispenser.

The BA Star Lip Pencils are priced at $8.75 each and they do have a few other colors to choose from on their site. Even though I think this is a good product I don't think that I would repurchase it. I love the color but I would only wear it on certain occasions during the holidays but I would recommend this product to people who can rock a red lip all the time.

If you are interested in purchasing one, use the code BBLIPS  for a 50% off discount at checkout.

This is a sponsored post but all opinions are mine and honest. I was sent this product through Brandbacker.com in exchange for my honest opinion.

November Ipsy Bag

This months theme is Glam It Up.
I have to say, Novembers Ipsy bag was quite impressive. I was surprised that we got so many items and most were full size. I did not like a couple of the products but that's okay because I defiantly got more than my moneys worth in the products I love. I actually like the glam bag itself this month and I am now using it as my makeup bag in my purse.

So here's what I got:

1. Be a Bombshell Lip Crayon in "Hot Damn" full size - $14
2. Starlooks Gem Eye Pencil in "Topaz" full size - $14
3. BH Cosmetics Galaxy Chic Baked Eye Shadow in "Asteroid" - full size single shadow but it can only be bought in a palette which is $14.95
4. Pixi Beauty Bronzer in "Subtly Suntouched" deluxe sample size
5. Nailtini Nail Polish in "Caviar" full size - $13
6. Em by Michelle Phan Mascara in "black" full size - $20

I can not wait until next months bag and theme! Their bags last year around the holidays were great.
I know most of you are subscribed to Ipsy so,what did you think of your bag this month?

A Great Way to Shop Online

Let me start by saying this is NOT a sponsored post. With it being so close to the holidays I have been making more online purchases and I was so happy that I was told about EBATES.com. I love price checking online compared to the store and a lot of times it is not only easier but also cheaper to buy something online.

Ebates is a site that you can join for free and they have tons of online stores and coupons available to their users. The best part about Ebates is the cash back that you get when you make an online purchase. Different store have different percentages of cash back. For example, I often make purchases from Ulta online because the closest one to me is an hour away. All I did was go to Ebates.com, search for Ulta, seen that the cash back was at 8% and clicked on the shop now button. It took me straight to Ulta's site and I shopped and checked out like normal. The next day I looked at my Ebates account and seen that I earned $9 cash back.

I would definitely suggest y'all check it out and see what you think. You also get a gift card when you use the site to make your first purchase. I know that a lot of people already know about Ebates but for those of you that are late to the game like me, I thought you should know as well.
